Training Options

Here at Fit Club Wymondham we specialise in some different training options that can add variety to any workout and probably boost any one’s progress. All of the training options listed below challenge the body more effectively than your traditional machines you find in the gym. The calorie burn potential can be greatly enhanced because they all require more work from the body to complete. All of these options are available to beginner right through to experienced trainer as there are many variations all ranging in difficulty.

Gymnastic Ring training (Right): This is a training option which will provide a real challenge to upper body strength and core strength development. Exercises from basic press ups to pull-ups become instantly more challenging because of the free moving nature of the rings. This will require more work from the stabilising muscles in any of the movements. It is also easy on the joints as they allow for a fuller joint range of movement.

Rope Training (Left): This again will challenge the upper body and core to do more work in an unstable environment so similar benefit can be obtained. It will also challenge grip strength and endurance because of the rope being fatter than your average dumbbell handle. Variations of push and pull exercises can be done on the ropes for greater strength development.

Sports band training (Right): These are great for all manner of exercises and challenge the body with elastic resistance thus requiring the body to stabilise itself while performing any upper of lower body movement. Particularly good for speed and power development and burning calories, they are used a lot in the circuit training.

Kettlebells (Left): These are centuries old Russian training tools that are great for athletic development and strength and endurance. Single exercises can be incorporated into workouts or a whole body workout can be completed with these. These are very good for burning calories because so many of the exercises involve big powerful movements.

Sandbags (Right): Not just good for flood defences, these are great for challenging the whole body to work harder and stabilise more because each exercise makes the sand always move to the bottom of the bag so keeping hold of that sucker is instantly tougher. Massive calories burned and more strength through the whole body can be obtained.

Beer kegs (Left): These are filled with water to varying weights, these are challenging to lift as the water moves inside them thus altering gravitational pull all the time so the body works harder to lift and stabilise them.  Very good for calorie burn and strength development.
